to tell or not to tell?

ive started goin out with a new partner and i think i can trust him, but im scared.
i have scars and all i need is for him to notice. do i tell him before he finds out or just hope he never does?

I think you should tell him sooner, rather than later, for this reason:

What if he reacts badly to it? It would be a horrible thing for him to do, but it's possible. If you tell him sooner, at least you'll find out how he feels about it and then can judge what to do next from there. If you wait a long time and then he finds out, two things could possibly happen. First, he could react badly, and if he does, you want to figure out that that is his attitude before you get deep into a relationship. Secondly, he may be upset that you never told him and think that you see him as untrustworthy.

Hopefully, he'll help you with the problem and be supportive. In which case it would be good to tell him sooner anyways. But if he's going to be bad about it, it would be better to find out sooner so if you need to sort him out or dump him, it happens before you're too deep in the relationship.

I told my partner before.

He made me show him.

He now won't let me cover it when we're alone. He tells me he does it to show he doesn't mind. It works.

just thought id aupdate you all. he ended up goin behind my back and started talkin about it to my mate when i told him not to say a word to anyone. so i dumped him. i just lost all trust for him.

^ This might not work, depends on what kinda person they are. Because I am with someone who said to me "I dont understand all these Emos cutting themselves to keep with fashion and for image, theres no point to cutting at all!" But when I told him I did it, he was so supportive, so it all depends on how much that person likes you.
Just wanted put that in.

Im sorry it didnt work out btw, but its for the best if he is doing that to you.
