I was reading posts about how born is illegal to those under 18. why is that a law and what is the penalty
Also my old friend said that two minors having sex together is illegal is this true?

It all depends on where you live. Here in New Jersey, you've gotta be 16 to have sex.

Porn is illegal for minors, but you are very unlikely to get busted for it.

The laws concerning the age of consent vary from country to country and even state to state. In most places at 16 it is legal to have sex with anyone, but you should look it up on google for more info and clarification. If you're under 16, in some places it is legal for you to have sex if your partner is within a certain age of each other.

You can't have sex with someone over the age of 18 if you are underage ( I read it somewhere). i'd do more reasearch.

In the United States the age of majority (age of legal adulthood) is 18, and the belief is that because pornography is adult material that a person should be 18 or older to be able to make a responsible decision as to whether or not accessing such images is proper. I agree with the post above that the reality is that many teens access porn, and unless they are looking at illegal porn such as children performing sexual acts, then it is highly unlikely that they will be rounded up by law enforcement. Looking at porn is a personal moral decision that entirely depends upon your upbringing, religious beliefs, and/or views on sexuality.

As for engaging in sexual activity every State varies in terms of the "age of consent" and the allowable difference in ages between sexual partners under 18. The following chart would probably be a good resource for you if you are in the USA: http://www.4parents.gov/sexrisky/teen_sex/statelaws_chart/statelaws_chart.html Basically, if you are under 18 and want to have sex, then make sure that you are protected not only physically (i.e. condoms, birth control) but also morally (having your parents tolerate your sexual activity) and legally by ensuring that you meet your State's guidelines for sexual behaviour.

its a law because according to them, kids under 18 shouldn't look at it. no clue what the penalty is. 2 minors having sex is legal if they are both under 18, and they both concented to the actions. as many couples who have sex, and many guys who masturbate with eachother end up having sex in the 69 position, not so many people know about it as no one in their right mind is going to tell that to someone unless under gunpoint. so theres not too many arrests for minors having sex.
