Instant messenger (like MSN)

maybe there could be an instant embedded messenger like on facebook or bebo where you can chat to and see which of you friends are online. just an idea, i don't know if that would put too much load on the server?? just a thought...

You can check which friends are online and on VT just go to the bottom of the VT homepage.

There used to be a modification for this called vBPager but it got removed from vB.org because it contained a major security vulnerability. vBPager was the only modification that was for forum instant messaging.

So we couldn't even implement this even if we wanted to. It might be good for contacting people who don't have messengers but I think the best bet is using private messages or the chat room.

It would be really cool but all you have to do is PM the user to go to flashchat then open a new window/tab and then you can browse the forums and chat at the same time.
