View Full Version : Glue Dissolver?

Well, I was repairing something with super glue erlier and sorta got it on my fingertips (and various little bits on other parts of my hand).
The thing is, it says that it bonds to skin instantly - it did, but it's stay there. I've tried using nail polish remover (dunno where I got that idea) and for some reason I'm thinking about trying vinegar? I soaked them in hot soapy water for an hour after trying to file it off (which was an additional hour)...
Anyone got any ideas? Or a homemade glue dissolver thingy (I've no money and no way of getting hold of any real stuff).
Thanks, guys :)

i hate it when that happens..
my skin is really oily[thankfuly not my face so much!], so it kinda peals off me..
but, do you have hand sanitizer?[mostly rubbing alchol], because that desolves thorugh alot of stuff.

Heres what I found... These are ideas for removing from things like wood, but if it seems painful, dont do it, but some might work with flesh too. The one in red is my recommendation. Makes sense to me. Just kinda melts it. I hope this helps.
Nail Polish Remover (good guess)
Petroleum Jelly (prolly not on skin)
Toothpaste
Hand Lotion
Hair Spray (idk... stickier would be bad)
Baby Oil (mineral oil)
Vinegar (soak cloth, apply to goo then leave for awhile–even overnight)
Rubbing Alcohol
Hand Sanitizer (works for everything (especially pen and marker on flesh))
Windex
Baking Soda & Water Paste (just rub gently into the goo, then wipe off with a warm wet cloth)
Lighter Fluid (noooooo)
WD-40 (set for 5 minutes)
Peanut Butter (interesting...)
Vegetable Oil (set for about 2 hours)
Margarine
Goo Gone
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (doubtful but possible)
For surfaces that you’re afraid to damage, try heating the sticky goo with a hair dryer then wiping off (firmly) with a wet warm & soapy cloth.
Duct Tape (stick on goo firmly, life tape up quickly, repeat as needed)

Ok... So, I soaked my hands in vinegar, then covered with a ton of lotion, had a bath, then morelotion before bed... I woke up and most of it was gone, stillhad a few flakey bits tho'. When I got to school, my friend* gave me some hand sanitizer (alcohol based). It worked! If only I'd had some before
SO THANKS GUYS :D
