I got stung by a bee like half an hour or so ago on my toe. It has been stinging and hurting ever since. Someone told me to wash it out and I did. But it still hurts. I hope I am not allergic or anything. How long do bee stings hurt for? And what if the sting feeling starts going to other parts of your body as well (such as the leg)?

Not sure, all I know is that first time I got stung (and only time) it stung me in the eye, so the pain was dramatic. I think though that unless it starts swelling with a radius greater than like 1.5 inches around the sting then you probably are not allergic. If you start sweating intensely and find trouble breathing seek medical attention immediately. A little swelling is normal because it is trying to push the barbs out. Other than that you probably will be fine, you may want to take a tylenol or some pain killer to try and numb it and reduce the swelling a bit.

Earlier when I was shaking my toe it felt like something in it was moving. My leg kinda aches too, now. The toe still hurts right now. But other than that, I feel ok. Except my saliva tastes weird but who knows what that is from.

Try drinking about 2L of water to kind of flush your system. . . see if that helps

Oh, let's hope you're not allergic to bee stings! If you were, this would be a medical emergency, people who are allergic cannot breathe after a sting!

Typically, if you're stung, wash the area with soap and H2O and with your parents permission, take a Benadryl (read the directions for dosage). That's an anithistamine, which takes away the swelling and burning/itching pretty fast, as the sting creates a histamine response in the body.

Now it has been over three hours, or possibly four, since I have been stung. It is not completely gone but it's definitely all a lot better. By the morning it should all be fine.

Thanks for the help guys.
