So I need to write a paper on a certain person who was a genious. My personal choice to some people's dismay was; Charles Manson. Sure, he had a hand in the murder of 9 people but he persueded college kids into a cult and had him murder them for him. Now being smart doesn't justify what he did, but the way he did it was pretty smart. He realized that people had issues and he helped the resolve problems, cure fears. He was also very very very, good at talking people out of things. Many of his followers said, in order to acchieve Helter Skelter, they needed to kill huge names like world leaders. He is only reply to that was, stricking fear into the hearts of people is not done simply by killing the most influencial people. but by diminishing hope slowly by elimenating the weak of heart, and the strong wallets. Now, for my paper I need at least 30 opinions on him. This is not a debate people, voice your opinions and DO NOT ARGUE!

To me he's sorta like Hitler. A natural born leader and an incredibly smart guy who could have done great things for the world but instead he used what he had to hurt and kill people.

I agree with Thomas. He is comparable to Hitler. Both men were brilliant leaders...Hitler is arguably the best leader in history. They just happened to use their brilliance for horrible things.

Brillance? Nah. I'm brillant. You guys are brillant. Nick is a genius. So is Rex. And of course there's Jacob. And some others, all my friends here. You all manifest very rare and special talents that help you excel at certain things, that set you apart. And, with time and continued growth and development, will potentially advance society and humanity. I'm not foolin', either.

But Manson? Hitler? They were nuts. B/c they were psychotic, they were able to play by different rules without that nagging conscience that holds the rest of us back. Brillance isn't about getting people to do truly insane things by appealing to their weaknesses, it's about using your gifts, your special abilities, to advance society and humanity and bring out the best in people. What they did was destructive, not constructive. Psychotic, not genius.

Greg, I think you might want to spend some time clarifying in your paper how Manson used his appeal as someone who couldn't play by the rules to attract others with a similiar weakness.
