Could you either add a button, or have something like this add the BBcode
Notice the V
httvp://www.youtube.com/watch?v={text}
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{text}&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{text}&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Or something like that, putting the "v" in the url helps us define which is just a link, and which is a video to embed.

Good idea, but would it slow down loading of each page etc?

you know vt doesn't allow html code
I think a button would be a good idea though
like the one for url's [this links to yahoo.com] (http://www.yahoo.com/)

I don't get what you're trying to suggest, sorry.

He's suggesting that instead of having to link people to video sites, you could have the video player in your posts. Like being able to play the video on a VT page.

We already have that, dont we?

yeah, we do
jack, are you trying to say that writing out the [youtube]*code here*[/youtube} (intentioal mistake) is too much work?
Like how you click on the URL or IMG button, and it asks for the link/pic, that could be an intersting idea, but i don't see how it would be easily implemented.. with youtube endings being crazy and all

^^ I think he's saying that along with something else, but I'm not quite sure what his other suggestion is, though I think it has to do with html code (which can't be used on VT).

Oh crap, I just figured out what he's saying. You know how in order to post a youtube video you have to first type [youtube] then in here you would type only PART of the url and then [*/youtube], I think what he's saying is that we should either add a button that would automatically put the [youtube][*/youtube] in for you, or pop up like the url button, or that you should make a command that lets you just type a v after the entire url, so that you don't have to copy just part of the url. I could be completely off though.

If that is what he's saying, then that's an ok idea, even though it's not hard to type in [youtube].
But adding anything that has to do with HTML is an idea that probably won't happen, as we never have and probably won't allow HTML.
Also Jack when you use the "PHP code" box to type in codes, that's really confusing. Can't you just use the "noparse" code?

What?
What i meant is:
Put another button like this: http://youtube.com/favicon.ico
Here:
http://www.ijackonline.com/files/stopbeingstoopid.png
----------------------------------------------------------------------------^
And the other one:
To use the video in your posts, paste YouTube video URL with httpv:// (notice the 'v').
Important: The URL should just be copied into your post normally and the letter 'v' added, do not create a link of it.
Example: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWfksMD4PAg

So in short you're suggesting we add a button for YouTube videos... rather than having to type out ?
And I really don't get what you're suggesting about a v in a URL or something.

Yes,
Forget about the "v" thing

What?
What I mean is, instead of using the PHP code box to show somebody a BB Code:
omg
just use the noparse tags:
omg
it makes what you're trying to say much less confusing because it's not in a little box that has NO significance to the thread.
and all you want is just a little button that inserts the youtube code in there? Why didn't you just say that in the first place?

About the "v" thing:
If someone does not understand the meaning of value and the example provided, then they can simply link to the video.
Edit: (If that is relative to what you're saying.)

Yes it is a good idea, but this isn't MySpace.

ugh. That isn't the topic; we'e talking about the embedding of videos and how to do it. Not about the feature/bbcode itself.
