A 30-year-old Denver mother has been charged with sexually abusing her 2-year-old son, according Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.

Alicia Lee is free on a $50,000 bond after she was charged with sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, and aggravated incest, all felonies, Morrissey said.

According to the charges, Lee performed oral sex on her son and took photographs, sending them through e-mail to a friend who forwarded them to the 2-year-old boy's father. The father then called police.

According to a copy of the e-mail reported by the Rocky Mountain News, the mom told her friend in April that she thought about the sex act while changing the boy's diapers. The next day, she sent a photo of herself performing the act to a friend and said the boy giggled when she performed it.

"The sending of possible child pornography material via e-mail is being referred to federal authorities for review," a news release stated.

Lee is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Sept. 29, to be formally advised of the charges against her.

The kid's too young. I don't even remember anything from when I was 4, let alone 2. As long as no one constantly reminds him of what happens, by the time he's an adolescent, he won't have even known that this happened. I don't think this will have any major effect on him... But the mother on the other hand, is one sick puppy. There are worse people out there, but still, what has to be going on in your mind in order for you to do something like that? I'm going to presume this is not something the kid will want to remember. We have a habit of blocking out bad memories. And, well, you have an incredible memory. Most people can't remember back when they were 1. I highly doubt he'll remember this unless he either A) for some really sick reason, wants to, or B) his father or someone else constantly reminds him of what happened. Those are the only two reasons he would remember it and keep it a vivid image in his mind, which would really screw him up. He's only two. His 'memory' and the 'truth' can be shaped for him. He's not screwed up, not yet. His mom might be, but he isn't. He's not traumatized for life, he's not going to be 'fucked up'. He's just a normal two year old.

^^ I wouldn't expect her to get sentenced to longer than 10 years, and thus I don't expect her to BE in prison for longer than 3. What she did wasn't right, but it doesn't necessarily warrant 35 years to life imprisonment. If they choose to charge with possession of child pornography or anything along those lines, I think it's just plain stupid, because A) it's her own son and B) there are hundreds of other mothers out there who probably have sent a nude/nearly nude pic of their own child to a friend or another family member. Thus, they'll probably drop that charge (if they even charge her with that at all), and besides that charge, they're not going to charge with anything that would warrant more than 3-5 years in prison. I mean, maybe, just maybe, she could get 20+ years, but I would be surprised to see her get sent to jail for more than 10. Though I could be way off here, I'm no 'sentencing expert'.
