iPod Touch

I just turned 15 and I got a 16GB iPod touch, I've heard there are ways to hack it to make it a phone, does anyone know how to do this?

Don't do that. The iPod Touch is a thing of beauty, but it ain't a phone. Just be happy with it being an iPod. It's pretty as it is.

I would like to point out that your Rep Power is 0, so unfortunately it wouldn't affect anyone's reputation if you were to give positive or negative reputation :|

Also, I strongly doubt that an iPod could be turned into an iPhone or any kind of phone without "major surgery." It might be an Apple product, and it might have the lowercase "i" in front of the name, but that doesn't mean that it transform into something that it's not.

To be a cellular phone, the device must have a SIM card and a SIM card reader. It must also be able to broadcast and receive cellular frequencies from miles away. It must have (or be programmed to attain) specific codecs to communicate with cellular towers. It must have a way to input numeral data (numbers) into memory. It must have software or firmware that recognizes numeral inputs and interacts with cellular hardware. It must have a microphone and a speaker. The software must be able to take audio input from the microphone, digitally encode it, and send it through the cellular hardware.

Does the iPod Touch have all of that? If not, then "major surgery" doesn't begin to describe what someone would have to do to actually make any kind of phone out of the iPod Touch.

Definitely agree with what Kiros said. You can jailbreak it to where you can basically do almost anything you want, but be careful! if you do jailbreak it I am pretty sure that you will completely void the apple care warranty that you get with it.

It cannot be a phone because it lacks the receptors and hardware capabilities to accept phone signals, just wifi signals.

Sorry, can't make it a phone, or else I would have done that instead of just buying my iPhone, but I will let you know if you want an iPhone, it is definitely worth it!
