Don't change your standard routine, don't take more medicine, don't go to the doctor for unneccessary illnesses. This may sound very odd but this is what I do and here is why:

a) taking more medicine helps viruses change and become more adaptable to where your antibiotics are unaffective against them in the future. So you will become more sick.
b) don't go to the doctor for unnecessary illnesses because he will probably just prescribe you a standard antibiotic
c) the main reasons for these is because your body makes an attempt to maintain homeostasis (a sort of equilibrium) and the more you try to aid it the weaker it gets, because it does not have to try as hard, so you have a weaker immune system. Not only that but your standard routine all year long should remain the same, I am not saying to wear the same clothes as you would in summer, but don't act differently around sick people. because your body is used to this and if you try to guard it you won't be in homeostasis. Keep that homeostasis and you will probably be better off:

ps: havent been sick in over 4 years . . .

Take care of yorself, get enough rest, eat well. The usual stuff.

The most unusual (and most correct) is to wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Those are the most common ways of infection.

I agree with Sam
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that although being cold doesn't help you, it doesn't necessarily harm you either. Most people get sick during the winter from being inside much of the time, which makes people closer and makes it more likely to get sick (sitting inside at lunch, staying in the gym for PE, etc.)

Drink plenty of orange juice, sleep, rest, avoid sharing things like drinks and such.

It's kind of hard to wash your hands all of the time in school. Maybe buy a little bottle of hand-sanitizer (a dollar or two). That way you can clean your hands on the go.

Emergen-C is a waste of money. Just eat citrus fruit and take a vitamin c pill daily if you're worried about it, otherwise just do what you would always do to keep yourself healthy.
