hormones causing urges?

i'm having a lot of urges, and i know its because of puberty. But what if i get a urge, whlei'm with a guy who wants sex? Do you think i should go on birth control? if so, can i get it without a doctor prescription? My mom doesn't like to talk sex/puberty with so, plus its kida embarrassing to talk about. I don't wanna end up like another juno case.

Well lets face it, the only 100% safe contraceptive is abstinence.

And yes, hormones are going CRAZY and are likely to cause these urges.

If you think that you are going to have sex, you need to first stay safe. This means, using a condom EVERY time and birthcontrol is very helpful. Also, birth control can help make periods more regular and lighter so thats a plus.

If you mom doesn't like to talk about birthcontrol, dont talk about it in the light of SEX, but in the idea of a lighter period. I am sure the idea of her girl having sex will make her uncomfortable and if not upset even. So, go on the girl to girl talk and just say you've done a little research and you like to try birthcontrol.

Yes, urges are a part of the hormonal changes of puberty, but so is self control. If you have an urge when you're with a guy (or any other kind of urge, ftm), you should act on it if you've given it some thought, considered the consequences, and decided it's a good thing to do. There's a thought process there, too, it's not just a blind urge.

If there's a chance you'll become sexually active, then go to a Planned Parenthood clinic (check the Yellow Pages), and talk with a counsellor there about birth control.

Sexual urges are due to hormones and if you are making out with a guy you can get the urge to have sex also.

OK the only way to get on birth control is to go to a doctor and he will have to take a blood test to find out which one is best for you. I am not sure if you have to let your parents know about you taking or getting birth control but it is a good idea to discuss with an adult that you can trust.

these urges are only because of puberty most people when they have these urges they masturbate instead of having sex with some random guy

u should talk to your mom about it 1st because i don't think you want a baby on your case and second if u don't tell her she is bound to find out someway or another

condoms are not 100% safe because they could break or not work i suggest if you r goin to have sex you get on birth control and a condom

I suggest that you get hold of some condoms and CONSTANTLY have them handy. If you do that, you're probably more likely to get yourself into a situation when you think, Well, if we use a condom it won't matter if I have sex. So, I guess not having any form of birth control will make you think twice about indulging in sex... If you do get into a situation where you feel like you want sex just say no! It's hard at times, but you'll look back on it and thank yourself :) If you're still horny you could always suggest alternatives, like oral sex and mutual masturbation. These can be just as fun and don't usually carry heavy emotional consequences.

**I know that you can get some over-the-counter oral birth control pills around here, but I'm not sure if it's like that everywhere... You could go to your doctor or Family Planning Clinic and ask about birth control, it'd completely confidential.
