Speacial skins?

I was thinking about this earlier today and I thought, "Why don't we see if vB has special holiday skins so we can put them on VT for like Christmas or Thanksgiving?"

I think it would be pretty cool. What do you guys think?

Almost all of the holidays aren't celebrated by everyone. And this would just be another thing for Admins to deal with, and it's not really that big of a deal.

I'll put a Christmas tree in my signature for Christmas, that should fill your need for festivity on the site.

To add new styles just for a holiday is a huge job, all the style templates need to be modified to make all the features work properly. It would kick up a fuss betwwen members who for example don't celebrate christmas or something.

A lot of work for just one day.
Also, we have an international base so Christmas isn't celebrated by everyone. Thanksgiving is an American thing. Fourth of July is American. Easter is Christian. New Years is not necessarily so for Asian cultures. Umm...Valentines day is American.
The list goes on and on...
So I would say no.

Except that not everyone celebrates the same holiday. As long as it's a choice then it's alrgiht.
We in England don't celebrate thanksgiving. And some people might not beleive in Christmas.
It's a great idea though. I like it :-)
Make them a choice, then people don't have to put up with celebration skins that they don't celebrate.

Maybe we could have like a winter generic holiday skin but we might offend the Aussies because its not winter in their hemisphere. :P

They could have someone whos good with graphics to make the VT banner logo thing to be more seasony like at xmas have a xmas tree in the banner etc.

I was about to suggest the same thing as Patchy. We could just have someone put some snow o0n the banner or something, and viola!

I celebrate all holidays even if it is hard to keep up with everything >.< lol but ya this would be hard to do so i dont think we should do it.
