Well, they can't do anything about it now since I'm not living at home anymore. But if I were still at home...
Mom: She knows that I'm young and that I'm going to experiment. She strongly discourages it though and would always be so disappointed in me when she would find out if I had been drinking.
Dad: He really doesn't care. He'll let me drink his alcohol as long as I keep it at his house and not go anywhere. The way he looks at it is this: Might as well get it out of your system now so you won't go wild and crazy later.

They discourage me but don't enforce it unless I was to get really drunk, which I don't plan to do because they might take a harder line on it. I'm not allowed to have any at home which is fine by me.

I'm never going to touch a drop of alcohol in my life anyway, but they wouldn't let me drink. Not until I'm legal age. And I approve of that.

I don't plan on drinking until I am 21. I have had a few sips of wine and beer. Neither of which I enjoy. I usually only have 1 sip at a time. I don't know why I do it, maybe I think it will be better than the last time. I always ask, and my mom says "Sure."
But actually drinking, I bet my parents would. We have an outstanding rule (that I found out by my sister drinking) that if I find myself in a situation where I have been drinking and need a sober ride home, to call, no matter what time. I am sure I will have explaining to do, but at least they would come and get me.
I don't think they would be very angry. At least not if I was a bit older, say 17 or 18. But now, at 14 years old, they would be a bit upset.

I don't know, I don't like most alcohol, but I don't think my mom would care. Though both my parents despise beer. They don't mind things like wine and champagne, but they just, for whatever the reason, absolutely despise beer. My dad has said I could drink wine [at certain occasions, and not just religious holidays] if I want to, but I've tasted it and I'm not too fond of it. I've also tasted beer, which I'm even less fond of. I can tell you I don't think I'll ever get drunk, but that my parents wouldn't care all that much if I did.

The poll doesn't make sense by the way.
You ask "Do they mind" but the poll asks if they let you...
So I won't vote.
But my parents WOULD care, and probably flip out and fly off the handle.

My parents don't give a crap about me period. They know I drink, they have never said anything about it to me. They act like I don't exist for the most part. The only time they talk to me is if they need something from me.

My parents believe in taking the mystery out of drinking alcohol. They let me drink whatever in their house or with them. But if I am out and at a party or whatever, they have raised me to know what is good and bad for me, so I just don't drink except at home.

Dad doesn't care at all, Mom nags me about it (mostly half-jokingly) but effectively doesn't care either. I like that about my parents. ;)

They dont mind me having like one drink. eg a glass of wine with dinner, or one alcopop at a party. They would seriously care if I got totally drunk.

under my parents supervision on special occasions they will let me drink wine. the worst thing i've done is steal half a bottle of wine last new years when i was down and upset. then i came on vt declaring my love for everyone apparently, while my good friend lauren tried to convince to stop drinking because i was drunk and it wouldn't make me feel better. the next morning i found out she was right.

Aww...you're one of the people who loves everyone when you're drunk...
I honestly don't know if my parents would care if I drank or not. They don't drink and I've never drank, but hmmm...idk.
They'd get over it, I guess...

My parents would care if I drink because they don't drink. I've been curious about what it's like, but at the same time I've heard about the potential problems so much that I don't know if I'll ever actually want to drink. The only good thing I've heard about alcohol is that it makes you feel pretty good for a little while. No thanks.

My Dad definitely cares, my mum not so much.
My parents did something stupid when they were 16 while drunk.... 9 months later I came. My dad doesn't want me doing the same.

My parents do care, but they don't mind. I think they're ok with me drinking mainly because it's legal in the UK as long as you're over 6 years old and it's on private property, both of which I fall under.
I'm aware of how much damage it can cause to people, I've had to look after one of my mates who came near to dying from alcohol poisoning. I know my limits, and I can control myself, and I quite enjoy getting drunk.
My parents also go by the "it's your body, it's your choice" kinda idea.

My parents don't really care as long as they can keep an eye on me, dad let me have 4 consecutive shots of port. Certainly got me to sleep quickly:P
But yea they don't mind as long as they can keep an eye on me. Which is fine for me as I don't really go out to parties.

Being that my dad is an alcoholic, if he tried to say anything to about drinking, I'd tell him to shut the fuck up and go get hit by a car. My mom says nothing about anything I do, so I doubt she'd say much. It's been about six months since the last time I got drunk. The last time I was drunk, it was off of a shitload of whiskey that I downed with some Coca-Cola. My friend (who was also drunk) wanted to go to the store and get some chips. I was paranoid because he's seventeen and I was fifteen at the time. I had already been told that if I got arrested again that I was going to get put in a home. We ended up getting back to the place that we were supposed to crash but the next morning, I had a hangover out of this world.

I think my parents are okay with the fact that I drink. They know I'm fairly responsible about how much I drink, and even when I'm drunk, I'm not fatally stupid. And they'd rather I was open about it than have me sneak around behind their backs.
That said, I don't drink very often, and only very, very rarely would I drink enough to get drunk.

My dad is ok with me and my brothers (like the ones over 14) having a beer at dinner.
It's not dangerous, if anything it is teaching us to enjoy a beer in moderation.

Yeah my parents would let the shit hit the fan. Of course i'd talk my way out of it. But still, they're not about to find out. I don't enjoy beer or wine though, and haven't tried any hard liquor yet (vodka, whiskey etc.). My policy is: Drinking is fine, smoking has crossed the line. My parents policy is: Every little fucking thing crosses the goddamn line.

My dad will give me a small glass of something, or let me try something sometimes. Every once in a while my mother will let me try wine. On Christmas I got a few glasses of cheap weak wine. My mother found out I drank a little (well, she thought) bit of Vodka and she flipped.
Little do they know, I've been completely shitfaced right in front of them. Sometimes at parties I'd have a vodka-filled water bottle and just walk around drinking it.
My parents would definitely care, especially if they knew how much it was. My dad probably wouldn't say a whole lot, but my mother wouldn't shut up for literally a few years. She still holds stuff against me that I did when I was little and didn't know better anyways.

meh. my parents don't care if I drink moderately. I don't even think my dad would care if I got drunk (in the house). What they do care about is educating me about alcohol, and what happens when things go wrong. Which isn't hard at the school I go to. I've heard about the blackouts, the stomach pumps, the drama.
TBH, i don't want to get drunk. I like a few drinks. My parents are passionate about wine, so I grew up with that. I *love* beer, and when I'm out and about I'll have a drink or 2, but never more. I usually go out to have fun, and puking isn't fun. So, in the end; both my parents are kinda bleh on the subject (my dad more than my mom).
