I totally agree with this post, and what happens in many cases of experimenting is one guy simply views it as fun while the other guy may honestly believe that he is in a relationship with the other. Even if one guy gets a girlfriend the other guy might still expect to be able to do things with his friend and may genuinely be hurt if things end abruptly. Finally, a real danger that can happen is that experimenting could be all that the two guys do for fun, and gradually they stop doing other things like hanging out and only do sexual stuff. As a result, when one guy looses interest in experimenting, then the two guys may not have anything in common as a result of their friendship simply being about experimenting to the detriment of other activities and commonalities.

The more realistic danger than attachment is that one or both friends feel internally conflicted (normally because of pre-existing morals) about what went on, which often over time leads to weakening (and sometimes breaking off) of the relationship. Another danger is one friend taking it farther, faster, than the other is comfortable with.

it creates awkward moments with your friends. and that alone can ruin your relationship. but it can be many other things.

sometimes a sexual relationship between friends works out, but more often than not, it doesn't.
