It is better to know the person before you ask here out. Sometimes it is ok if you get to know this person as you date her. That way you grow closer together as your relationship grows. It all depends on both of your maturity levels.

It depends more on how mature you both are. Going straight into a relationship can be a good or a bad thing, depending on what you both make of it. I've had dreadful and amazing relationships which started off like this.

It was probably for the best because technically you shouldn't try to date someone until you know a little bit about them... it makes the relationship go smoother and it would probably last longer as well because you would already know their likes and dislikes and know if you are compatible before even dating...

thats the right thing to do and once you get to know her and u end up liking her then you can re-introduce dating
