Stolen photos of Britney Spears' teen sister Jamie Lynn have ignited a federal pornography investigation.

Entertainment website TMZ.com reports US authorities are hunting someone peddling photos showing the 17-year-old breastfeeding newborn daughter Maddie.

It's believed the image is one of 12 photos taken of Britney, Jamie Lynn, her boyfriend Casey Aldridge and their daughter.

The photos were stored on Aldridge's digital camera.

TMZ claims the camera's memory card was taken to the couple's local Wal-Mart in their home state of Louisiana for prints, and authorities believe someone at the store made extra copies to sell off.

The offending photo shows Jamie Lynn's left breast.

It's understood that because Jamie Lynn is a minor, selling or buying the images could be a breach of federal pornography laws, and could land either party in prison.

As they have been unlawfully taken, any buyer could be prosecuted for receiving stolen goods.

Among the photos are images of Britney holding the baby, as well as the rest of the family surrounding Jamie Lynn's hospital bed following the birth.

TMZ also said they've been informed that Britney's lawyers are considering "going after" Wal-Mart for the alleged security breach.

this is ridiculous give the poor girl some privacy, they have no right to look at their photos.

the question that remains is why they were stupid enough to take them to a wal-mart where this type of thing was bound to happen. people should think before they do things. and now this girl has her left breast out for all to see because of it.

Now this is going to far. This is going beyond the ...whatever.
The person that stole it needs to be fired and indicted for invasion of privacy.

I don't think it is necessarily child pornography since it was not in a sexual manor was was with sexual intent. I dont know the exact details of the Louisiana law or the federal one for that matter but I think that it shouldn't be child pornography. It is natural and not our fault shes a teen.

It's ridiculous that they can't even do something as normal and mundane as developing photos in relative privacy.

the question that remains is why they were stupid enough to take them to a wal-mart where this type of thing was bound to happen. people should think before they do things. and now this girl has her left breast out for all to see because of it.

Where else would they get their photos developed? lol

^^ I'm sure they have enough money to get them developed by a single person [quite possibly someone they trust], and developing pictures on your own is not impossible nowadays, though I'm sure they weren't expecting this to happen, and they've probably 'learned' from their 'mistake'. Though as Tim said, this isn't even deserving of being called 'news', its just stupid shit about a celebrity that people get all obsessed over.

That's awful. They can't even have pictures of special moments in their life because of losers.

They weren't getting them developed, they were getting them printed from a memory card. It's very easy to buy your own photo printer and make your own prints, but it's still horrible that they can't go to walmart to get pictures printed for them.
