Your country entered a war on a global scale [i.e. World War III] and your government started a military draft. Lets assume this war is for power, nothing more than a war out of greed and quite possibly ignorance/arrogance. What would you do? Willingly fight for your country out of nationalistic pride? Would you really be willing to put your life on the line for a worthless cause? Or would you try and get out of it claiming illness or disability? Or better yet, would you flee your country? Or would you do something else entirely? Start an anti-war campaign? Fight for the sake of fighting, because you're that type of person? Etc.

I'd flee the country, or support counter-efforts in the country itself. I don't really fear dying, but I'm not going to suborn an evil war just because I was born in the country that started it.
Nationalism = gross.

If it was then fuck ya
If it isn't like the war were in now

Cody, this question isn't a yes or no question, and this is assuming you're country is an aggressor, not that its defending itself. You can't just say no to a draft. You need to be disabled or ill or hide away from the government [or flee the country].

Well Canada doesn't have a draft
So yes I can
and you never said we were the aggressor
you said we entered a war on a global scale
theres a big diff

Yes, its on a global scale, but I should have clarified that while you're country may not have started the war, it was on the aggressive side, entering it for reasons of greed and power, rather than entering it for reasons of aid or defense. But this is 'make believe', imagine you were in a country with a mandatory military draft, what would you do then?

I'd take advantage of the situation and take over the country.

I'd run away, far away!
I have no national pride at all really, what has Australia ever given me? I know it sounds selfish but I've only lived here for four years and I'm not willing to die for this place.

I'd go to the woods (which BC has a lot of) and hide since I am confident with my skills to sustain myself off the land.

Believe me, I have had encounters with bears. I know them. And know how to deal with them.
Times of the year here we are infested. And the Kermode bear is our mascot -ish thingy, so it would be nice to me. :D
I dunno about cougars... but I have yet to see one, and I know how to make weapons too.

i'm not too sure about how your "made" weapons would do against a cougar..

OKay... let's put it this way. Peasants in the middle ages were able to go out, chop down a tree, get some string, and make bow that could shoot through a knight's armor. Now, last time I checked, cougars don't have anything like a knight's armor. And I'm going to start archery soon, and as I've already shot a bow, I'm sure I'm going to be perfectly fine.
Anyway, we met someone who came across a cougar once, and all he had to do was back away slowly. NO blood, gore, destruction, etc.

Do you know how hard it is to shoot a bow at a target 10m away? It took me about an hour before I could do it nearly every time, and this was a pretty big target.
Now imagine how hard it would be to shoot something that's moving very fast and is a small target. If you miss one shot you're gone, in fact even if you hit it it'll probably still kill you. And you can't shoot bows when you're sleeping either :P .
BTW why has this become a cougar/bear hunting topic? lol

As in, I'm going to start practicing a lot, and I HAVE ALREADY shot a bow a few times, and can do it okay. Sure, I don't hit the target EVERY time, but a good deal of them.
Don't worry, cougars or no cougars, I can survive out in them woods just fine.
*Ahem*
Back on topic....

not for this country. you think ww3 is bad? if the world wants a ceasefire, canada'd be happy with a ceasefire in toronto.
i live in a small town, no one would waste bombs here. im from Newfoundland, and i still think it should be a country, not annexed by canada 59 years ago. the govt does nothing for us and suck the money out of here like we only live in igloos. and then they expect us to fight for them. canada might get nuked in Ottawa, but thats ok because theres its the biggest place of scum and villainy outside of the european war crimes act. and in fact, i would flee for newfoundland, theres even less chance of getting kiled there.
