Well, I know when I'm in love because I want to improve myself for the other person. Now I don't mean when I feel inadequate or anything along those lines. It's when I simply feel like they deserve my best so I find myself taking the extra time and effort to be my best. Especially if that starts extending to areas that don't directly effect them; like I start wanting to do better at school because I could be doing better and I think they deserve a girlfriend who does their best in school, even if it's a B+ instead of a B. Does that make any sense? Of course, that's just me - I'm sure there's a lot of variation in the "in love" experience.
