For most jobs in North Dakota, you can get hired when you are 14. Some things you can't do are: cook in a fast-food place until you are 16, use a meat slicer until you are 18...that's all I can think of, actually.

You can get a job at 14 here. You can't work with machinery until 16.

You have to be 16 here, and can't use machinery, like meat slicers, until you are 18.

14 and 7 months here is odd though the average age at which people get jobs though is 16.

A website said here you can get a job when you're 12 if you have permission from the government. Not sure who'd hire you though.

But without that permission, 14 is the age.

I think its 15 here but.. most places dont accept until 16 because theres too much paper work for under 16's. I think

Yep your right.

Health and safety at the workplace and under 16s dont go well in the UK!

however I'm 16 in December and can't wait to get a part time job :D

15, but most employers won't hire 15-year olds since they can't work past 7 PM and can't work over 5 hours a day.

At 16 though, you can work like an adult, just the break times are different and you can't work over 40 hours.

16 & 17: a 15 minute break at 4 hours, and an additional un-paid lunch at 5 hours.
- At 6 hours, another 15 minute break is required.

18+: a 10 minute break at 4 hours, and an additional un-paid lunch at 6 hours.
- At 8 hours another 10 minute break is required.

The minute I turned 18, my boss was so happy since I can now work over 40 hours if needed, which probably will be needed if one of the supervisors quits like she thinks they will, and she always makes me work at least 5-hour shifts now, which is good for me since I get a bigger paycheck.

I think it's 14 in the UK to have a job, but you're meant to get some stupid "job permit" signed by a teacher in my county, no one does though, people don't normally check for them. You can get a job without any paperwork when you're 16, and I think that this also entitles you to the lower band of minimum-wage. I think that's more or less right.
