Video editor help

I have Imovie and it doesn't work. Is there a movie editor like it? That is free to download (nothing illegal). I have a mac and its on tiger. Plz help!:D

What version of iMovie do you have? Because the one that is native to Tiger is the better, easier version.

Why won't it work exactly? Some error numbers / more detailed descriptions would be great
