Well, I'm not really depressed, but, I do have aspergers syndrome. This year is my first year of high school, and it is not a "regular school". The high school I'm going to offers special education, and it only has 10 kids in each class, but still, there is grades 9-12. I haven't started yet, I'll probably be starting in 2 weeks or less, because there is still much stuff I gotta do be4 I can go. But, would you call it a regular school? I mean this school has offered kids a nice education, and some kids didn't even complain about it. But, I feel like I'm not normal. I'll probably be going to a regular HS for the 10th grade, but I do feel bad about not being able to go for 9th grade. But still, do you guys think it's a regular HS, even with the special education? And it also sucks that I have to start late, while most kids are already in school.

Of course it's HS! You're in 9th grade. The building or classes might be different, but it's still ninth grade, right, you're not with a bunch of five year olds!
Special education is a designation for those with special needs, like Aspergers. It allows the classes and teaching methods (as well as the grading system) to be tailored to the indivdual needs of the child. So, in your case, it's a special classroom with special teachers, with a limited number of students, all of whom have been selected to work together b/c they have similiar needs or academic requirements. You're all still in ninth grade and you're all teenagers.
You're recognizing that you're needs are a bit different than the other kids, by getting this special designation and special services. But, remember that this is only a small part of who you are. You're also a teeneager who's just starting HS, regardless of those diferences or the actual place you're in!
Have a great start, and good luck in High School!

Thanks so much. You made me feel a little bit better, but I just want to have a normal HS life, though. But, I guess I gotta make the best of it, so that I can go back to the regular school system for next year.
