I seriously need to quit >___<

I've been smoking since I was 14 due to... well, curiosity more than anything, I didn't mind it, then I thought I'd see if I could get served or not (I was 14 at the time and the legal age to buy cigarettes was 16) and I got served, so smoked em.

I've been addicted since, my ex boyfriend tried to make me quit, but tbh I smoked more just because I didn't want him to 'win' (childish, I know)

Well, all my friends from college smoke, all my friends outside college smoke, my sister smokes etc. so it's so hard to keep away from 2nd hand smoke anyway, and when they smoke I tend to smoke aswell.

I smoke about 10-15 per day.

Any tips?

Well, as i don't smoke i don't really know what its like to have this addiction.
The best thing to do is to keep your mind off it, or even when you feel you want to smoke, go and grab a chocolate bar or something, OR, look at the side effects on the Internet, some of those images are REALLY bad.

To above poster, chocolate isn't really too healthy a replacement for smoking lol, eating a lot of that will cause problems too as I'm sure you know

Back to topic, the main thing which makes you want to smoke is the nicotine in the cigarettes. Nicotine is a very addictive chemical, and the main reason as to why it's so hard to stop smoking is because it's so addictive. My best advice would be for you to try some nicotine patches, one of my mates who's tried them told me that they work pretty well, so pop along to your doctor and I think they can prescribe them.

Your doctor can also give you advice about who else you can talk to to help you stop, i.e. psychiatrists, seeing as smoking can also be somewhat of a mental addiction too.

My friend used the patches before and she said they made her feel abit sick :(

I wake up and automaticly reach out for a cigarette, it's just an old habit now </3

If I don't smoke for about 3 hours I start biting my nails >___< which isn't that great for you either </3

I would use some sort of nicotine substitute like nicorette to ween of.
If you try to go Cold Turkey you will most likely fail.

Biting your nails is the least of your worries at this point. I do it all the time, have for 5 years, and lo and behold, nothing bad.So if that's what it takes, just keep holding off. Tonight, go stash your cigarettes somewhere other than beside your bed. Go douse all of the matches you have in water and throw them out. Get rid of your lighter, whatever it takes.

I'd suggest you google 'Smoker's Lung' on the internet. That'll help you see what smoking does to you.

My friend showed me loads of pics like that before, and sadly it doesn't bother me /:

The only thing that does bother me is the fact that smoking could be the cause of my death.

Right now I have 1 cigarette on me, which I'm more than likely gonna give to my friend in college tomorrow now that I'm quitting.

try to only smoke like 3 packs a week then it'll be easier to cut down

dark chocolate is good for you.

try patches, they seem to work, have a stick of gum when you get the craving, or go to a local meeting for smokers.

this has worked for me get alot of gum so when feel like pullin out the pack instead have gum and cut down slowly

ummm, legal age is 16? where do you live to?

anyways, try the patch. or cutting back one cigarette a every few days or so.
