Hey guys.
I have a friend at school, she is 17, and we are really good friends, we can talk about anything (I mean anything and everything, you name it, we have probably talked about it, haha), and I would really like to ask her out. Thing is I am 14, and she is 17.
(Freshman and a Junior)
Is there anything wrong with this? Also when she turns 18, I will be 15, and once she is 18, will we have to legally break up, or is it not illegal? (State of Georgia by the way)
Thanks!

Its fine. And when she does turn 18, just don't "date" her, but still do. Know what i mean? Just be really good friends.

Well personally, I don't think age should matter with non sexual relationships, so in my opinion its fine, although sexual intercourse between minors is always illegal.
But once she turns 18, its even more likely you will get in trouble if you have sexual relations, because its technically rape, BUT since going out isn't a legal thing, I don't think there are any legal problems with non sexual relationship.

To me, age doesn't matter at all.
When she's eighteen, I'd still date her, just don't broadcast it.

Its not illegal to date, but it is stadutory rape if you have sex or anytihng sexual when she is 18

Agree.
I'm 17 and personaly wouldn't go out with a 14 year old, but that's just me. I went out with a 13 year old when I was 15 and that was weird enough </3

Okay, that's good, because both of us firmly believe in being abstinent untill marriage. :D

As platonic friends? No problem. People of any age (or any other difference) have things to offer and enrich eachother with.
As b/f, g/f? No way.
There's too much diff emotionally b'twn you at this age, the way you experience things and understand them and feel them are dramatically different, and things will change very dramatically, and not for the best. What you feel will change and might be difficult to deal with, and you will risk becoming overly dependent on her for not only being there for you, but helping you manage these feelings, too. When teens are about the same age, both expect and need the same things, so there's not as much difficulty managing what comes up. Besides, if you already have such a good relationship as a Besty, then what do you think will change if you're going out?

I know what you mean. A 13 year old girl wants to go out with me, and to me that would be weird, plus loads of people wwould take the piss.
