all guys itch their groin like that. its perfectly normal. Grown men do it to. it shouldn't be like an ITCH as much as just a scratch. I mean, every men adjust themselves down there when necessary but they shouldn't really itch like you have to scratch continuously for a while. If so...

Goldbond powder or something similar are good for helping fix minor skin irritation. And its okay to buy that because people use it for many reasons such as chafing and ahtletes foot. So its not like buying condoms screaming the use, its fine.

Lets face it, balls itch. Don't worry about it. I shave mine but when the hair is growing back they really itch, maybe if your just starting to grow hair down there thats why.

I agree with bud, try putting a bit of talcum powder on after each time you shower. And remember that when you shower you need to make sure that everything is thoroughly cleaned and dried to avoid the chances of itching.

If you try this and the itching still persists, then go to your doctors.

Although any part of your skin can itch, itching like 'hell' suggests something is going on other than the 'normal' occasional itch.

You can try corn starch powder (NOT talc/talcum powder!), often itchiness is caused by perspiration. The powder will absorb that, and hopefully reduce the itch.

If it doesn't, or there's a smell associated with it, you've likely got a fungal infection, caused by the moisture of the sweat + the warmth of your body= fungal growth. Unfirtunately, there's not much you can do about this without some medicated powder oi cream, or if it's really bad, a prescription from the MD. Left alone, if you've got one, the fungal will get worse.

I'm not sure what the embarassment is about here, it cannot be worse than the discomfort you're experiencing by not treating it.

It sounds as if Sams right and you do have fungus.
Maybe you don't but if you do, do what he says to do.
I've found that listening to him generally makes life easier and more comfortable.
He's like VT's doctor!
Plus he gives rep quite freely. :-)

Well I've never heard of guys getting fungus on their balls. I'm guessing you just started itching them for whatever reason and now you are obsessing and making it worse by itching. Maybe try some cortisone cream or if you want to be sure then just go see a doctor.

Although I'm sometimes wrong, I really only answer posts that I believe I understand and have accurate info on, even if I don't post a link to some other site. I like to think I'm a credible source for accurate info.

Fungal infections on the scrotum are very common, actually. Tinea (the name of the most common fungal) is also known as 'Jock itch', and is caused by moisture + warmth. Typically, symptoms include itching, redness, and a foul smell, pungent and cheesy. Treatment consists of keeping the area clean and dry, and the use of an anti fungal cream for a while.

Fungals are common, but if you have one, are stubborn, they will not go away on their own, and the symptoms will get more significant. Likewise, the really nasty thing about them, is that they dissolve part of the skin's natural reistance to them, so even after they go away, the affected area is more prone/less resistant/ more vulnerable to reinfection. And, the longer it goes untreated, the more of that natural resistance is lost.

If you have serious itching/redness/smell, and it's been with you for a while, get it checked out, or at the very least, get one of those OTC anti fungal creams available at the drugstore. It's not a big deal, part of being both a guy and an (almost) adult is that we sometimes get 'things', and that we have to address them promptly, as soon as we 'know' it's not normal, is uncomfortable, or hasn't goes away in a reasonable amount of time. There's not much room there for simple embarassment.

If you have a fungal infection in your groin area, then it really is no big deal as many guys get them. You can check out the following link from the Mayo Clinic which has good information: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/jock-itch/DS00490 Products like Tinactin, which is found over-the-counter, are pretty good at treating jock itch, and you can find this product by athlete's foot medication. You should definitely talk with your parents, especially your Father, as they would understand what to do for you. If you have time, then you can always make your way over to the school nurse's office to get a general idea of what you have as he/she can then point you in the right direction.
