Well they can't hold your hand and walk in with you. Just think of it as a way to gain independence from them.

It's not like they can just go in and walk you in as Thomas said. You need to learn to be independant and show that you can actually walk into a school without them having to go in with you.

As said, they can't just walk in with you. But I can understand why you'd be upset. It can be nerve-wracking starting at a new school, especially at the beginning of the year when things are hectic to begin with. Don't worry about it, though, I'm sure things will be fine, and if you get lost or aren't sure what you're doing, the people in the front office get those kinds of questions all the time, and will be able to help you out. Some might seem a little tired or stressed out, after-all this is probably a busy time of year for them, the time when everyone is confused and needs a schedule change or can't get their locker open, etc. but it's their job to help you. I'm sure you'll find out that the first day of school goes by just fine, without your parents' help. :)
