effexor was the first anti depressant i've tried.
i HATED IT.
it made me soooooooooooo dizy and out of it.
i couldnt stand it.
i can see how it could be addicting though if your using it to get high.

You cannot become 'addicted' to an anti depressant. It might help you, and you might feel better on it so you don't want to come off it, but you can't really be 'addicted' to it.
As long as it's working, as long as you're feeling better and following your doctor's orders, there's nothing 'addicting' about it. Under those circumstances, if you feel better, it's working and you've found something that makes you feel better and you're on the road to recovery! Gratz onya!
When the time is right, under your doc's supervision, you will come off the meds and everything will be as it should. Until then, be thankful you've found something that works.

my body becomes addicted to it, and yes, just like any other drug, your body gets use to it and craves it when you don't have it. with a missed dose you have severe withdrawl symptoms.
and no it isn't working. i just can't get off it.

The active ingredient in your tablets, venlafaxine, is not chemically addictive, so within theory you can't get addicted to them. But you can develop a psychological addiction to them, as you can with anything else. Best thing to do is to go talk to your doctor about it.
