Well, my sister's trying to set me up on a blind date with her friend's step brother, I've never been on a 'date' before, Idk it's not really something that happens often here /:

Soooo... the question is, have you ever been on one before? if so, is it really as awkward as it is in my head right now? I'm not good with new people anyway, alone a new person my sister is trying to set me up with >____<

I actually have been on one. It was very very nice, the girl I was set up was extremely rich and she & I went to a fancy dancy restuerant. We dated for about 3 months then she moved to Cali.

the trick with a blind date is to not treat it like a date, but just meeting a new person. if you both hit it off then great, but at least if it doesn't then you've met a new person and there are no expectations to hook up when you don't want to.

Probably what's awkward for you is meeting the new person. Why not make contact with him before the date? A call, an IM/e-mail just to introduce yourself and touch bases, maybe just to say "hi" and let him know you're looking forward to it, etc. might break the ice and take some of the awkwardness of those first few minutes out if it.

Whatever you call the encounter, when new people get together the point is to get to know the other person, and to have fun. Don't forget to relax and remember that, and if you feel uneasy having him pay, offer to do that.

I may ask my sister if he has myspace or something so I can at least say hi and stuff first :) that'll be less awkward.. I think.
