How do i unlock my hard drive

I want to know how can i "unlock" my xbox's hard drive so i can hook it up to my computer.
the xbox was manufacterd in 2002
it is a SEAGATE 10GB HARDDRIVE
Model: ST310014ACE
pls help

alright man theres a few ways you can go about this

one way is to get the unlock password off your xbox and hook it up to your computer and unclock it manualy

second way is to disable locking in the xbox bios

third way is to turn the xbox on and wait till the harddrive spins down and unplug the harddrive real quick witht he xbox on

o ya and dose anybody know any software that u can put on ur comp so u can read the hard drive without formatting it

no i am wanting to softmod

ok heres your choices

softmod first then run a program (i forget the name) and it tells you the password and unlock it on your comp

or unlock it with the hotswap method

if you unlock it though you must tell the bios to disable locking or it will lock evrytime you turn it off
