There are lots of reasons people can't sleep, Chelsea, but in your case I'd think it's b/c of the stress and worry you've got.

Remember what we talked about? Getting support networks in place so you can talk about this stuff, AND also find some play time, too. I think there's too much inside, and it needs to get out constructively.

it's hard for me to sleep too. it took me until 2:00 AM to fall asleep, and i woke up at 9:00. i only got 7 hours of sleep. i'm bad at sleeping. originally, i went to bed at almost 12:00, but i ended up walking around the house, and looking at things.

I do not sleep but maybe its because of stress induced insomnia or anxiety induced insomnia.

girl, you're totally stressed out. It's okay.
maybe getting some stuff off your chessst would help some :)

And, don't let the dog in your room, if she likes to get you up, it ain't helpin (i sometomes kick my cat out for the same reason)

I'd kick her out but my mother fears that my animals will use the living room as their bathroom

My mom doesnt rly seem to care she just said "well start going to bed earlier then".....how the frick will that help....

I think this is normal. At least for me, usually within the first few days of school starting I get hardly any sleep. I think it is a mixture of left over energy for the summer and anticipation for the school year. I am not sure if you started or is starting school soon but I think there are some things you can do.

First, get active. Make sure you actually have burned some energy over the course of the day.

Second, speaking of day, I think that if you go ahead and wake up early and go to sleep kinda late.

Third, When you are trying to sleep make sure you are totally relaxed and mentally peaceful.
Also, for me thiking about what I am going to do the next day, what I am going to do the next week and ranting on helps me fall to sleep.

Last, WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS COUNT SHEEP!

Good luck :D

Exercise is beneficial for reducing stress and correcting sleep patterns.
