i`m 13 and weigh 145+ is this over weight/ i think i need to loose weight does anyone know a good diet

Im only saying this out of personal experience but i find that exercise works better than dieting, and makes you happier too

How tall are you?
I'm 13, and ~150 lbs and barely overweight.
Age doesn't really matter- its about muscle mass and height
Muscle weighs a lot so if your pretty strong, you weigh more.

But, if you want to go on a diet, the best thing to do is cut out snacks [chips and candies] during the day. Every time your offered desert after dinner say no thanks.

Then, you can search Google for healthy meals and make some nice healthy meals [or ask your parents to]

dude, you weight less than i do, and i'm not overweight

unless you're 5'0, i think you're fine

Well, Im 13 aI weigh about 200 pounds! but I'm 6 foot, and I have he muscle.

Drink a lot of water everyday. No pop/soda/soft drink.
Don't eat any junk. Eat light or diet foods for dessert.
Jog 1 mile to start off with every day.
Join a gym and start lifting weights 5 times a week.
In about a month or you should see results.

I just weighed myself for the first time since I beat anerexia. I am not 85/15 muscle to fat. I weigh a total of 176 pounds and I am 6 foot 5 inches.

I would definitely talk with your healthcare provider to get an objective view of your weight to see where you stand in relation to folks your age. You might want to visit www.mypyramid.gov as a start to figure out the kind of things you should be eating. The key to eating right is to eat in moderation even those things that may be bad for you like junk food. It is important that you don't go to any extremes like binge eating one day and starving yourself the next. Have regular times when you eat, and because you are in puberty it is critical that you get adequete nutrition so that you develop right during this last growth stage of your life.

I agree with the others that keeping physically active in moderation is very important, and you should do something to keep your body in shape be it running everyday, biking, or simply walking. If school is nearby, then walk to school so that you can get exercise and stay active. Also, joining sports teams is another great way to stay in shape.
