how strict are you guy's(that's possessive) dress codes?
this would've gone in twpr, but since it'ed be moved anyway... yeah
mine, (yes i stole it from the parent guide)
1. All shirts must have sleeves. Sundresses that are revealing, have side openings, or straps less than 1" in width may only be worn with a shirt underneath. Undergarments should not be visible
2. Garments exposing the stomach or those which expose too much of the anatomy are prohibited
3. Students may wear shorts and skirts of appropriate length (the length of the item must exceed the length of the fingertips when standing with arms at side)
4. Student dress must remain free of symbolism related to death, sex, violence, ethnic insult, drugs, cigarettes and alcohol. Students may not wear destructive clothing, or footwear, i.e. cleats, rivets, ornamental bells, etc. NO HEAVY GAUGE CHAINS OR CHOKE COLLARS MAY BE WORN. (This includes athletic and extra curricrial activities)
5. Hats, bandannas, scarves, headbands and other head coverings may not be worn during the school day (period one through dismissal)
6. Coats and jackets are not to be worn in the classroom unless requested by teacher
7. Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times (no flip-flops in labs, etc)
8. Sunglasses may NOT be worn during the school day
9. Personal grooming is not permitted in the classroom
10. Undergarments should not be visible. Students may be requested to wear a belt if necessary to keep their pants at an appropriate height
11. Laboratory and shop settings may impose additional guidelines for the purposes of safety
12. Personal stereos/CD players or other electronic devise shouldn’t be used during any classes or in hallways. Students may use headphones during lunch, in studyhall, and/or on the bus. Student are responsible to store headphones in appropriate places at all times (not around neck)
as it was hand typed, not copy-paste, yes some of the things are summised. but yeah.
funny, no underpants listed twice

Mine is basically the same. We can "wear hats and/or sunglasses if a written note from physician is on file."
Mine is enforced, to a point. There are some teachers who turn you in for everything. And others who don't really care. If your bra strap is hanging out a tiny bit, nobody will say anything. If your shorts are just a tad bit too short, nobody will say anything.

i am quite sure the iPod rule isn't inforced, but im not gonna flaunt it :P lol
slightly minor infractions of dress code that are, well, stupid, shouldn't really be an issue

I like dress codes, they serve as a reminder why you're in school in the first place.

I have the same kind of dress code
But its never enforced, unless you go walking by the principal's office with a see-through dress and no underwear.

We have to wear dress shirts, (oxford style or school polos.) Dress pants (with 4 pockets sewn in not stiched, two in the front two in the back.) Dress socks and dress shoes.

I studying at a fine art school, a dress code would give birth to a monster protest, even some teachers would participate... so no dress code, except... we all have to wear a badge( including the teachers), we can put it anywhere( from backpacks to stockings), we only need to wear it, the good thing is that the badge is wearable and it was designed by one of the students.

I don't have much of a dress code. I can wear anything I want. So, if I want to wear jeans then I'll wear those. But, I won't wear things like hats or sunglasses. I've been thinking of trying to allow my iPod while I'm studying but I'm not exactly sure I'll be able to get that past my mom.

Well this is our "School Uniform Regulations" as quoted from my school diary. This is long and possibly complicated, so bare with me:
Your uniform must be worn correctly at all times, including during travel to and from school. Whenever you are in the public eye you must be in full school uniform and on your best behaviour. Students must be in full uniform at ALL times. During PE and at other sporting events full PE uniform must be worn. If you are unable to present yourself in full school uniform, you must have a note from your parent/guardian explaining the reason. This note should be presented to the uniform co-ordinator during Roll Call who will issue you a uniform exemption slip.
Compulsory Uniform:
Hats - Only the official embroidered cricket hat or baseball cap is to be worn. Students will be asked to replace hats which have been defaced in any way.
Shoes - Plain black leather school shoes or walkers only. (No suede, no skateshoes, no high tops, etc)
Tie - Winter uniform for boys and on request for formal occassions in summer
Tab - Winter uniform for girls and on request for formal occassions in summer
Options:
Jacket - School navy blue fleecy jacket with embroidered name of school
Jumpers - Must be navy V-necked, knited or fleecy
Vest - Navy V-neck knitted
Hair Ribbons - Navy or Red
Items Not Allowed
Jeans or cords, Jewellery - necklace or jewellery of any kind, nail polish, makeup or unnatural hair colours. Skivvies or T-shirts must not be worn under shirts or blouses.
Excptions:
Girls - Plain gold or silver studs/sleepers in each lobe; a watch; a signet ring
Boys - Plain gold or silver stud/sleeper in lobe; a watch; a signet ring
Both - Medical identification bracelet/necklace
Sports Uniform
Shorts - Navy blue knit shorts - elastic waist, poly cotton mid length
Shirt - Polo shirt with red collar and school emblem embroidered
Shoes - Black or white joggers
Socks - Short white socks - No coloured bands
Complusory Girls Uniform
Skirt - Fabric Gleoron 9050
Blouse - Permenant press white polyester blend (long or short sleeve)
Socks - Short white socks (No coloured bands) or Navy blue stockings
Compulsory Boys Uniforms
Shorts/Trousers - Grey polyester blend
Shirt - Permanent press white polyester blend (long or short sleeve)
Socks - Short plain grey
So there you have it. Thats my school's uniform regulations. Hope it made sense?

Dang Stephen!
You make the [average] American public school dress code look like nothing!
That would suck not to be able to wear anything but uniform
No offense lol :)

Wow. Even when I was in a school that had uniform rules, they were never as strict and detailed as yours.

Other than the fact that it is 6am, therefore it took a while to figure out what a "cord" was(lol), yeah, that made sense. Makes this place look like a hick-town

Eh, i'm modest, and don't usually wear prohibited metal (mkay, i do have a bracelet that might be against the rules, but it's not sharp, just leather&metal) :P
I do imagine that it's less enforced than it's made out to be

Haha. nice. So you can't wear underpants? lol

ere we have skool uniforms throughout the whole o compulsory education. they dont feel the need 2 explicitly state in the rules that underwear must be worn. the rules are there 2 tell ppl wht the skool will accept as part o the uniform and wht wont be. eg additions (earrings, hoodies etc) 2 the uniform r 4bidden

Mostly because I listen to rock which is somewhat a bit strange. Genesis is a strange band and she thinks the lyrics are some what strayed away from real rock. In fact, on of their songs is about some prostitute. I don't care much but I'd like to listen to something while I'm studying.
Yes, Mom-code.

Insane Clown Posse I'm guessing, which is a shame.
Mine is just - wear a light blue polo, navy pants and black shoes.
Nobody really wears it, though I'd love to go to a school in the USA where you can just wear anything as long as it isn't offensive..
