Hey, my mom always tells me to get to bed cause i'm growing and going through puberty... Adults need less sleep?

Why is this??

Does sleep have an effect on the speed of puberty?

I find myself unable to fall asleep as early as i used to, and unable to wake up as early.

Why is this?

Thanks for all your posts. THeir much appreciated :D

you are not able to wake up so early as you use to because you go to bed so late now, its just your sleep pattern is messed up. If you want to fix it say go to bed a 10pm, even if you cant sleep just do it till you do, wake up at a certain time say 6am, do that for a few days and you will keep doing that.

And I would agree a lot of changes happen during your sleep so its always a good thing, and lots of sleep is healthy.

Ok, Bobby, I won't call you Jesus as you request. Besides, I think Bobby is less frequently used, anyway.

Teens need more sleep b/c the adolescent body is changing so much that it requires more rest. All those changes are biological, and burns more energy, so you require more sleep to recharge. Think of a high performance car: It does more, goes faster, but requires more high octane gas. The sleep is part of that formula. If you don't rest enough, your body will still change Ok, but you'll feel more tired as a result of not getting enough sleep, you'll 'ping' or 'knock' more as you try to get up the hills of the day.

You probably cannot get up as early b/c you're going to sleep later, and your body is just telling you it needs more sleep. Try to wind down earlier, no sodas or caffeine, maybe unplug earlier so you can fall off to sleep easier.
