Your can't just alter them. From recent discoveries and general fucking common knowledge, your born with your orientation. It's that great Nature vs Nurture argument again. Yes of course your surroundings might mould you into a certain sexuality, but generally, it's genetic.

When did they identify the "gay gene"?
Nature Vs Nurture is not the same as Not having any choice over your sexuality Vs Choosing your sexuality. They are just different theories as to what makes some people are gay and not others.

I have seen many interviews with people who have tried desperately to change their sexuality but been dreadfully unhappy. They were only really happy once they acknowledged that they couldn't change their sexuality and embraced it.

So pretty much your saying you choose to gay or straight but your forced to be bi if somebody doesn't drag you to one side.

Why don't you picture this your on a highway and there are three roads one says Gay, one says Straight, and the one in the middle says Bisexual. Each road leads to a different destination but only one of them is the road that leads to your happiness. You start going down the straight road but you begin to realize you don't belong so you find the next turn off and get on to the Bisexual road. It's better but still it's not the place for you so you take that final turn to homosexuality. You have finally found happiness because you've found the road that you were born to drive on.

Enviromental factors can not always be controlled by the individual so it can not be deduced that sexuality is not a controlled characteristic.
