This is a good question, we talk a lot about the diff b'twn physical attraction and emotional attraction, yet it's harder to define them.

Physical attraction is the easy part, it's the appearance of the person, some aspect of the way they look that turns us on. This is different than recognizing physical beauty (of either gender). You can recognize beauty and appearance without being turned on (aroused) by it, all it requires are functioning eyeballs and an open mind.

Emotional attraction relates more to emotions or feelings, who we feel safest with and most comfortable with emotionally, who we look to nurture (emotionally care for) us and who we see as our primary emotional attachment. Who we trust most with our 'essence', the things that are closest to us, that makes us who we are. Guys can feel 'safest' with other guys, esp. at adolescence, that doesn't make them 'gay', but the deeper question is who we look for to take care of us and connect with us on that emotional level. Who we trust most, who we seek out for that deeper attachment. That's what emotional attraction is about, who we seek for that human attachment.

The answer to these questions is based a lot on what our experiences have been with our primary caretakers, how we've been treated and made to feel as boys or girls, as well as what we witnessed b'twn both of our parents. From this, comes a sense of who we are, and also what it is we feel comfortable with, who we're attracted to not only physically, but emotionally, as well.

Do you mean like you find it hard to understand how? its like falling in love with a girl. Exactly the same. Only some people feel differently about others.

Best way of putting it. It's feeling the same way to girls, only to a boy.
Imagining wanting to live with them forever.
Wanting to marry them.
Have kids with them etc etc.
