I'm 17, and I started my period when I was 13 which is normal for my age. Although, ever since then my periods have been extremely irregular. Every 3/4 months. I just came on my period two nights ago, the last time I came on was in march, and it is incredibly heavy, I am losing blood at an alarming rate, and I am starting to become incredibly pale and I'm starting to feel dizzy.
Can anybody help?

If you're starting to feel dizzy and look pale,
I'd talk with your mother about it,
And possibly see a physician,
Just so that both know what's going on with you.
You could possibly get on birth control to help make your periods more regular.

I live with my father and step-mother. I speak to neither of them about my personal issues, I haven't seen a physician in years and I wont start now lol. Do I have to get parental consent for birth control?

I would really advise you go and see a doctor. Your periods are probably so heavy because there is such a large gap between each one. And no you don't have to get parental consent for birth control.

I really don't like seeing doctors. I am not comfortable with them touching me or what have you. But, have you heard of someone having such large gaps between when they started years ago?

I started at 13,
And even this year I had a 2.5 month gap,
And I'm 18.
It happens.
This same thing happened to one of my cousins and she was sick for over a month due to the blood loss.
I hate to say it, but you may just have to suck it up and go see a doctor.
If you absolutely 100% won't go to a doctor, talk to a friend about it maybe.
You can get birth control at some clinics where they hand out free condoms,
But in order to get birth control they have to give you a pap smear.

You really should go and see a doctor. I know that you say you don't like them, but you really should. There is something not right here and it needs to get sorted.
Tbh, the only time I have heard of women experiencing large gaps between periods over a significant time scale have been pre-menopausal.

I don't think I even have a GP. I'm very uncomfortable with my body, I don't allow people near me. The thing is, the blood isn't red. It's incredibly dark. Almost brown infact, its so strange. I've never had this before and my pains have been excrutiating. I literally scream in pain at times, and I can handle pain very well. If I go to a clinic should I tell them about all this? Or do I have to go to my doctor?

Is there not a doctor at the clinic?
You should be completely honest with whoever you speak to about this. If you aren't then the advice you receive may not be exactly appropriate. The thing is, I reckon that the people at the clinic would get you to see a doctor anyway. So best to just suck it up and go to your nearest doctors surgery.
Why don't you take someone to sit with you in the waiting room and make sure that you actually go? It works with me.

I could try and do that. If I do go to a clinic and ask for birth control and they do a pap smear can someone come in the room with me? I wouldn't go on my own.

I am not sure as I have never had a smear test. I would assume that if it is ok with you the doctor won't make a fuss over it.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'm going to see if they will allow me to bring someone. Mod can you close the thread?
