View Full Version : Noises?

I keep hearing things. Like for a week or two in June I was hearing the attic door (which is right next to mine) being shaken violently. I also heard for a few nights before this episode a banging sound, as if something was hitting the house, both happened at around 1 am and 5 to 7 times a night. I even heard them through the music I tried to block them out with. I’m the only one who heard this, no matter who was awake or near by.
During the attic door episode I saw something too, this is the only time I’ve seen anything. I opened my eyes once during an episode and saw a bright blue light shining through the crack of the door next to my bed and landing strongly on the wall opposite it, it disappeared. Then it reappeared and moved across the wall as if the source was moving and then was cut off by the door. (The street is located in the opposite direction from the source, and all the car lights that shine in my room are yellow anyway, so it wasn’t a passing car). I told my dad of the sounds and he couldn't come up with an explanation (that is a first) and I don’t really want to tell him of the light, he thinks I’m over reacting anyway and I don’t like him knowing anything about what I’m thinking since he tends to be rather judgmental.
I don’t hear these particular sounds anymore. Now I just hear random noises, like hisses and exhalations (sometimes even when there is not a living thing in that room or the surrounding) banging or crashes, scratching and shifting, I even heard a door open once at 2 am before the banging episode happened. They happen during the day too, not just at night. And I heard voices twice. The first time I had heard a man say something and a group of people near him commenting on what he said. The second time I was in a field of people having just gone to the same art gallery as I, and I VERY clearly heard a woman whisper ‘shacoy’ to me from my right about 10 feet out. I looked it up: as far as I could tell, it is not a real word. I’m afraid a lot to be alone now without any form of sound (music, TV etc) incase something happens.
I’m going to bring these up with a physiatrist once I find one, along with some other things, but I think my dad has lost faith in me and thinks I’m over reacting (not that I blame him, I jump at the smallest noise now because of this, but it makes it hard to tell him anything) and I’m even loosing faith in myself…opinions? Am I over reacting?
(sorry about the length, I tried to make it shorter and failed…)

Now, I have a paranormal team of my own (we haven't been to active lately.) Still you need to rule things out like that light you said that appeared on your wall. That's most likely the reflection of the headlights coming off something. The hissing and exhalations are most likely due to your pipes expanding. Tell you what, if you can get a recording of whats going on and pm me with it I will help you ok?

I know it's sceptical, but it might just be the wind causing noises, or things to roll around.

In general, is there ANY possibility at all that you are tired, because your mind will play tricks on you if you're fatigued?

I can try to record but I tried before and I couldn’t get anything between the timing and me having used a pathetic camera. Rarely things have happened like doors opening too, sometimes we see it and sometimes we find it. As for the light and reflections off car head lights, it appeared on the wrong wall, it was neon blue, not yellow like a car head light, and I am facing the window out on the street, so I can both hear and see when a car comes by. It’s likely that I’m exhausted. During the time of the attic door thing I was going to bed at 11-12, falling asleep at 3-5 am, and waking up at 8 (but this is not all that odd for me). Now my sleeping schedule is out the window. I have sleepless nights and then large naps during the day, or longer sleeping the next night. But I'm almost always tired. Most of it could be explained by pipes and the house settling and my erratic sleeping schedules.
One of my friends suggested spirits. My Mother passed away recently (december 31) and my dad says there is a Maori belief that when someone passes away it attracts other spirits that have yet to pass on. (again, sorry about the length)

Well, the blue lights could be a car because some cars are beginning to get LED lights, which appear blue.

i have the same thing. when its completely silent, i can hear the very distant sound of the alarm clock. MHEEMP! MHEEMP! MHEEMP! but when i go upstairs theres not a sound and it looks like my parents didn't just get up to turn it off. it was 2:00 in the morning. than i went back downstairs and went to bed. and i heard it again. then i started hearing at school during any time it was quieter than usual. it happened more and more and then i went to newfoundland for the summer and i never heard it since.

He actually might have a paranormal case. You on the other hand, your situation checks itself out. Apparitions do not follow the living. So your just hearing thinds.

I think I understand this one. First, my sincere regret for the loss of your mom, that must be really hard for you. if you'd like to talk about that, we're here to listen.

You should tell your dad that you're missing your mom a lot and you would really like to talk with a good psychologist about it. Regardless of how judgemental you might find him, I cannot imagine he'd not understand and appreciate that request.

I think you're experiencing a grief reaction to the tragic loss of your mom. I think your anxiety, the stuff you're 'hearing' and 'seeing' (no, I don't think they're hallucinations or that you're losing your mind), are all caused by the feelings of loss and seperation from mom.

Losing a parent, esp. when you;re a kid, is perhaps the worst tragedy that can happen to someone, the emotional reactions can cause all kinds of problems, problems which manifest themselves with the stuff you're feeling and experiencing.

Luckily, they're all quite treatable, they will go away once you start to talk about them with a therapist. Please tell your dad, you've been thru enough, you have a real emotional injury there which needs attention. But, don't talk with him about the noises, etc., as they're only symptoms. Tell him it's about mom.

let me know how it goes.

Sam
