The popup is from a Christian Music store, not VT, Kiros, care to explain more?

I've not seen that before, what were you trying to do at the time.

hmmm, thats very odd...

It's not part of the site in anyway, and there's nothing on the site that could lead to something like that happening. The only explanation that I have to offer is that this is a client-side infection. In other words, there's probably some adware or spyware that silently communicates with (or opens up) a page on that website. Whether it would normally do it through an internet browser or not, it seems that your Internet Explorer caught it with an expired certificate.

Unless other people are getting the same popup, this is not an issue with the website or the server.

I haven't had it happen yet, and I don't see how it could be caused by this website.

"stuphstore.com" seems like a prime example of what adware would try to send people to. Unless more people are getting this kind of security warning, I'm extremely doubtful that this has anything to do with VirtualTeen.org.

yeah.. i've had it too..

only once, and i'm ignoring it, because if it was from here, it'ed say "virtualteen.org", if it was my other sites it'ed say "answers.yahoo.com" or "youtube.com"

Could it possibly be from a hotlinked image put in someones signature or post?

It hasn't happened to me either but I know hotlinked images can cause pop ups on another site if a person has it password protected with .htaccess.. but then again its not the same thing as this. Just a thought though.

The server can be busy because of other reasons as well. There are scheduled events that run to keep the forums intact.

Next time this happens, I want someone to view the source of the page, save it to their computer, and then post the source as an attachement if possible. This hasn't happened to me, so I'm still unsure, but since this is happening to multiple people, it's worth investigating.

The source of the pop-up is Phoenix Vermillion's signature. I copied the location of the image in his signature and got this url: https://www.stuphstore.com/templates/holycotton_new/images/store/chuck_big.gif This matches the source of the pop-up [stuphstore].

Great find.
Fixed. It's no longer using the secure protocol.
