Maybe this means that psychiatrists will refrain from prescribing them so much...

i kind of think it's bullsh*t, i mean obviously it's not going to work for some people, and it's definitely over prescribed, but i have tried many antidepressants, and none have worked like effexorxr, and when i don't take it, it's day and night, and when i went on it people i never really talked to noticed a difference in me, and i was hopeless and didn't think it'd work. it helped me talk to a therapist, and brought me out of my shell.

whatever. and now it's actually wearing off.

Antidepressants have seriously saved me from killing myself.
Yes therapy is important and in a lot of cases all that is needed but I think drugs can be equally as important especially for some people like myself.

As the clip says, they found little reason to prescribe to any but the most depressed patients. It doesn't say that they shouldn't be prescribed at all.

It doesn’t say they don’t work its saying that placebo drugs have the same effects as some antidepressants. I’m thinking people should really watch and listen to the video properly!

The whole point of using a placebo and comparing it with the use of anti-depressants is that the placebo isn't supposed to have an effect whereas the anti-d is. If a significant difference is found between the two then it can be safely said that the anti-d works. If no significant difference is found then it is safe to come to the conclusion that the anti-d isn't effective.

Well the thing is the placebo is NOT supposed to work, it therefore shows that there is another significantly affecting variable that is alleviating the symptoms. The Study showed that in a significant number of cases that the actual antidepressant was having the same effect as the little sugar pill. There are a number of explanations as to why the placebo worked, though they are not looked into.

Its good that you watched the video.

The placebo effect has been known to work in some cases. The mind is a very powerful thing.
