class periods, obviously


ours has four. (i got my hands on the scheldule..), third is split into three chunks (lunch A, B and C) and is longer (so everyone has like 20min to eat, i'll check the exact time later)


just wondering...

Ours has eight. Possibly nine, there was an early bird Spanish class too. Those eight include choir/choir study hall and lunch combined as one.

^^ You probably have something called 'block scheduling', they have that at the school my dad works at...

There are 9 periods in my school day.

A normal day at my school has 7 periods. Our schedule is based on 6 numbered days [Day 1, Day 2, etc.] After every cycle, there are two days of block scheduling- the first day is periods 1, 3, 5, and 7, all double periods, and the second day is 2, 4, 6, and 8. 8th periods are split in half so you have 2 extra regular-length classes. Their original purpose was for remediation and catching up on work/labs due to absences, but they're also used for club meetings and various rehearsals.

I only have four classes and I get out of school 2 hours earlier then the under classmen. I Just need to fufill my basic credits and then I will only have to take 2 classes next year.

I have a block schedule. Almost all my classes last until the end of the semester. Except Math, I dont get to take Math 2 this year, they say its a bad thing but I dont see the bad in that.

When I was in highschool: 4 or 5
Usually 5, but this last year seniors got the privilege of having an open 5th period if they chose to and if they had earned it. So I only had 4 periods a day this last year since I was a 'good kid', lol.

Now that I'm in college, I choose how many that I have.
I scheduled: 4 (13 credit hours)
Might schedule in another class though.

But when I went to school in Missouri we had 7.

7. Lunch is for half an hour during one of them. Not sure of that at the moment.

I don't count lunch as a period... it's just lunch and only like a third of the time a regular class it.

we have 6 periods but we also have a conference hour inbetween 1st and 2nd period, but it's only like 30 minutes. Pretty sweet, we get to go anywhere on the campus really, so I just stay in the music building.

my last school switched to 7 periods

Language, Science, Math, Social Studies, Related Arts, Related Arts 2, Lunch, and Phys Ed/Health.

Timetable:
08.40 - Registration
09.00 - Period One
09.50 - Period Two
10.40 - Break
11.00 - Period Three
11.50 - Period Four
12.40 - Lunch
13.10 - Registration
13.15 - Period Five
14.05 - Period Six
14.55 - Home

To answer your question, 6 50-minute periods per day

Mine is really easy actually.

I'll go through my last year's schedule, just so you guys have a general idea.

I'll also add that there is a 3 minute break between each class.

7:50-You can go to your locker, bathroom, see a teacher, anything you need to do before class starts.
8:02-8:45- I had Math last year. (1st Period)
8:48-9:27- I had Social Studies. (2nd Period)
9:30-10:10- Gym/Band. Gym on Even days, or A days, whatever you want to call them, and Band on Odd/B days. (3rd Period)
10:13-10:54- I had French (4th period)

Now is where it gets a bit confusing. I'll do the best to explain it as I can. After 4th Period, there is either a 5th Period class, or 5th Period lunch.
5th Period Class- 10:57-11:37
5th Period Lunch: 10:57-11:27

6th Period Class- 11:40-12:10
6th Period Lunch 11:40-12:00

7th Period Lunch 12:13-12:54
7th Period Class 12:03-12:54

8th Period Class- 12:57-1:37

9th Period Class- 1:40-2:22

After 9th period there is Activity Period, or AP for short. It runs from 2:27-2:55If you are a freshman or higher, you can leave. 7th and 8th grade you have to stay there, in your homeroom. You can leave to go to other teachers though.

So to answer your question, 9 with the addition of AP.

I have 4 periods each day, but every day they alternate, except everyone has math every day, and Language Arts/Social studies are at the same time, same class, and same teacher each day.
Day One
1st period
3rd period
5th period
7th period

Day Two
2nd period
4th period
6th period
8th period

ok, well my school is the only one i know of with this system, and people i tell about it from outside thinks its very strange. we have 4 periods a day and it goes like this:

8:00 - 8:15 is roll call (some may know this as home room or other variations)
8:15 - 9:15 is period 1
9:15 - 10:15 is period 2
10:15 - 10:30 is morning recess
10:30 - 12:00 is period 3
12:00 - 12:45 is lunch
12:45 - 2:15 is period 4

you would have noticed we have 2 60min periods and 2 90min periods. that is what makes our school so bizarre. we have a fortnightly timetable and it works out that we have an even spread of all our classes. so there you have it!

We sometimes get what we call double lessons, which is (you guessed it!) the same lesson twice in a row. That actually works out as a 100 mintue lesson, but the teacher will usually give us a 5-20 minute break during lesson-changeover (depends on how stingy the teacher is, and how well behaved the class is)...

My high school had 8 periods with each one being 40 minutes long and 3 minutes in between for students to move around the building for where they need to be. My college schedules 1 hour 15 minute spaces with 5 or 15 minutes in between each.

We have 10 periods, but it is set up kinda wierd :/ periods are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6/7/8, 9, 10. 6/7/8 is either used as lunch, or, because math and language arts take up 2 periods in my school, you could have math or language arts for periods 5 and 6/7/8.

We had six.

8.50am: First period. Ten minutes for roll call, etc.
9.45am: Second period.
10.30am: Break.
11.00am: Third period.
11.45am: Fourth period.
12.30pm: Lunch.
1.20: Homeroom.
1.30: Fifth period.
2.15pm: Sixth period.
3.00pm: Assembly.
3.30pm Hometime.

We have five one hour periods a day. Pretty basic and simple. A bit like my school really...
Here's the timetable:
8:40am - Registration
9:00am - 1st Lesson (period)
10:00am - 2nd Lesson
11:00am - Break

12:30am - Lunch
1:05pm - Registration
1:15pm - 4th Lesson
2:15pm - 5th Lesson
3:15 - We go home.
