Okay, so I just wanted to enlighten everyone one on that Georgia/Russia conflict that is happening. I think I may move this to ROTW but anyways I was watching NBC and they did the whole story and kinda went back to the conflict at the beginning. So umm anyways so Georgia is a little but soverign nation south of Russia. However, in the center of this country there is a kinda mountainous region called South Ossetia that is actually within the country of Georgia but is controlled kidna by Russia. Well during the Olympics when basically know one would be paying much attention, Georgia gathered some forces and attempted to take back that region. Well that didn't work and instead all hell broke loose and Russia went beserk. Russia invaded that region, invaded the northwestern tip of the country, and deployed ships into the black sea so basically Georgia is surrounded. Now Russia is basically demolishing that little nation to a bloody pulp but is nto really stopping after an offer of cease fire from Georgia and numerous threats from other big nations. Now people are getting killed and everything is kidna going wrong. I guess Russia is trying to prove a point however Russia are being huge dicks and need to jsut go back and deal with it. It's not your territory so get out. SEriously. Also, I think that someone needs to go and help Georgia. Not the US and other allies of Russia and Georgia but more like the UN or NATO or someone just to help neutralize the situation. Meanwhile, Russia is pissed because no one is backing them up. So thats the jist of it. Opinions?

I support Russia and almost everything they do. Georgia was stupid to try and go against Russia. Hmm, let's see. A little country (is it even that?) that most people think is a US state attacks on of the largest and most powerful countries in the world. Way to go Georgia.

Well my stance on it is...
I think that it was right for Georgia to try and take back their land.It is legally theres and you can look on every map intheworld andseethat itwas.Whyismy space button not working. God.Umm yes I think that the US personally shouldn'tgetinvolved militarily.Asin not sending in the military but I think that it would be fine if we took the morepassive route inprotecting the people providing medical aidetc. I think that wwe should let theUN and NATO and the EU and all of those things militarily take on the defense that way its more of a joint thing. Thats my view.

I just think that it is wrong for Russia to kill innocent people without any remorse and to also take over an area that is NOT rightfully, legally theirs. Geogia is a separate soverign nation and they shoiuld not be pushed around because they wanted their land back. Granted, they did goa bout getting it very wrong. Asses... but still Russia is over-reacting.

yes but thats kinda hypocritical
because the states invaded afghanistan and iraq and this is just the most recent ones
You go to war far more often than any other country

I'm not attacking you personally or the states
I'm saying
They attacked Russia
The Russians will handle it
they wont over throw georgia
they have no interest in there own Iraq

Well first off, I am not and have never ever been in support of Iraq. Most of the american people aren't. That's why some senator should get the balls to impeach that mother shut-yo'-mouth. However, I mean sure Georgia screwed up going about getting back their land (their rightful land) but I mean come on. Russia, they get the point. They screwed up and you can crush them. Stop being the pestering bully on the block and just stop killing innocent people.

It dosnt matter what you or any other american thinks
the fact of the matter is Iraq happened; is happening
everyone talks of impeachment yet its never happened
clinton was impeached for shoving a cigarette up some hoes ass

And no they haven't
But they will
and then Russia will leave them to rebuild
and ignore them until attacked again

as far as there rightful land the world just dosnt work that way
do you think cuba likes the fact america has a chunk of there land
do you think canada was pleased when america demanded a chunk of ours during the gold rush
etc...

nothings perfect

While I'm generally quite against the way the Russian government has been acting of late, I think I'm on their side in this. Ossetia, though it is technically a part of Georgia, has been de facto independent for 16 years. 16 years! This is not some ongoing war. It's over, and for Georgia's government to try and recapture the province now is a pointlessly aggressive warmongering move that was absolutely bound to draw the Russians directly in.

I think that the West should defend Georgia proper - Russia must not be allowed to make territorial acquisitions in Georgia - but otherwise do nothing. Georgia no longer really has any claim over Ossetia, as I see it.

Georgia can reap what it's sewn
they attacked specifically during the olympics
when the world was distracted
and then immediately launched a PR of poor us the evil russians are hurting us why wont you help

I don't like being manipulated
