SAT's, ACT's, AP Exams, CLEP... whatever.
A little questionaire about college board testing.
Which tests have you taken?
What were your scores?
-Do you think you could have done better?
Were you nervous?
Do your scores reflect your actual knowledge and strengths?

Which tests have you taken? I've only taken the ACT
What were your scores? My first year was bad (23)...My second year I got...shit, I can't find my result!!! I think I got a 30. 30 or 31.
-Do you think you could have done better? First year, yes...second year, I'm satisfied.
Were you nervous? meh...I don't really get too nervous about anything.
Do your scores reflect your actual knowledge and strengths? Kind of...I got a 32 on the math part, which is my strongest, but reading wasn't my lowest, which I figured it should have been.

I took all of them, did really well on them.
I was not nervous, I test reasonably well, so I felt confident. I studied, took practice courses and exams which increased my confidence and gave me a sense of what to expect.
I don't think the tests are terribly valid indicators of anything, frankly, other than test taking ability, and one's ability to memorize random nonsense and recall it later on (although those abilities may be indicative of cognitive ability and college performance, who knows). However, out of all the data colleges use to determine admissions, these tests, b/c it's the same test given to everyone, give them at least one piece of data that's uniform, which makes this easier to use when comparing students.
if you decide to take them, it's best to study a lot and be as prepared as you can, to knock it out of the park, and to take whatever prep classes that might be available to better ensure you will.
