Anyone else prefer (or would prefer) a 4 day work week? If you have a job that is based off hours and shifts, its something that can be easily possible. The standard work week is 8 hours a day at 5 days a week equal to 40 hours.

At my current job this summer since there isn't enough work for 5 days at times, I've only work for 4 but still have 40 hours. In a 4 day work week I work two 12 hour shifts and two 8 hour shifts. So I get the same amount of hours in one less day.

Has anyone else had a schedule like that? You can work maybe 10 hour shifts for 4 days too.

I think its great and if you have a long commute it can save you on gas.

That seems almost better to me. Not only do you save on gas for a long commute, you get more days off.

Working 5 days is fine. 4 Longer days might seem bad at first, but after I thought about it for a few minutes, it's better.

Pretty nice schedule you have there. It's a bit harder incorporate that kind of schedule into nursing. 9 hours / 6 days. But I would be able to see about my part time job.

I would like a 4-day work week very much. The lucky students in my college have 4-day class weeks. I wasn't so lucky this past year and neither will I be this upcoming semester. But in my freshman year, I was spoiled by having classes only 4 days a week. :P Even though the credit load was a normal full-time one, the week felt so much shorter with a 3-day weekend.

I watched a news segment about 4-day work weeks maybe... 2 weeks ago, and there was a city government trying it out. They were saving money on operating expenses, and employees were happy to have an extra day to be with their family and relax.

Sarah works 4 ten-hours shifts and gets weekends off.

I work 4-5 days a week myself, but not nearly as many hours since I'm in food service and Sarah is a secretary.

I've scheduled a 4-day class schedule for college my first term. I've got 2 Monday and Wednesday classes and 2 Tuesday and Thursday classes.
