Music choice/personality

Does choice of your favorite music have anything to do with personality, ive read somewere that it does, i do realise that music choice has a little to do with what kind of music you grow up to but, like for example people that are violent or have problems with temper usually listen to darker music, harder music, like me for example, my music choices describe me personally, Loud, angry,screaming,soulfull,calm,relaxed....anyways,My favorite kinda music is heavy metal/death metal,rock, it just gives me a rush of excitement and a feeling of being pumped. I LOVE it. I do have bad periods of temper control(more than others, less than extremely violent people though) and i can be pretty violent sometimes, but i also have a calm and peacefull side to, thats were i think the classical stuff comes in. So, do you think music choice has a little to do with personality(no sterotypes here either).

I like stuff with melody. It depends on what mood im in for the type of music that I listen to.

I agree with Darthrage...it depends on the mood I'm in. I listen to different types of music all the time.

Not really. I'm generally a calm intellectual type, but I like some loud, aggressive music. I like most music, really. It has more to do with what you're exposed to and how open-minded you are. Many of my friends are quite surprised when they find out what I like, so personality doesn't seem to be very closely related.
