View Full Version : Is it a rash?

Whenever I go in the ocean, which is quite often, I get red and itchy at the base of my penis and my inner thighs. But for some reason, this time it's stayed for 24+ hours. Is it possible to be allergic?

I didn't know where to put this. Mods, please move to wherever it belongs.

lol happens to me too maxis... I get a rash on my inner thighs... i wouldn't worry about it. if it stays longer, i would consult your parents, or a physician if you feel uncomfortable asking your parents

You're probably just having a reaction to all the salt and various other organisms and bacteria that's in the ocean. I wouldn't be TOO concerned about it. But if it doesn't go away in less than a day, then I'd go to the good 'ole doc! :)

but the thing is, it didn't start happening until thirteen.

During puberty (Although you may not notice it) your SKIN changes it's sensitivity towards certain things. In your case, your skin has changed it's sensitivity toward something in the water causing your rash. As I said before, if the rash stays for longer than a day, go see your doctor.

I back this up. Might be mild allergies. Like when I get itchy around high content of chlorine.

but when the base rubs up against my bathing suit, it feels.... not like a burn but very irritated.

It's the sand that gets into the bathing suit. Rubs against your skin, and irritates it.

It's like red bumps.

Im not an expert so i would just say its an irritation from the sand and your wet bathing suit rubbing against your penis

1) Its the sand and wet trunks rubbing it agianst your penis.
2) Its the sea water. Salt can be VERY irritating.
3) Insects in the sand?

I think it's all of those.

I have this same problem. I just put a type of cream on, and it goes away. Also when I get in the pool. I think it is a type of rash.
