I've started my period already but I haven't used a tampon before so I'm a little scared to. Is it normal if my mom is in the bathroom with me to guide me through it or no? My mom and I are just very close, but of course I wouldn't have my mom do it for me because that's just too personal.

Nothing to be scared off. Every girl has done it some point in there life. Just act natural. If you find its to small or big then ask your mom for some others.

your mom saw you naked when you were born, and she changed your diapers. she knows what to expect.

Yeah but the thing is as we grow older we tend to be more aware of what we have and does. So we dont like to show it.

Asking your mom for help is ok. She should know what to do.

Just do what you prefer. But dont feel stupid for letting your mom help. She may have gone through the same thing.

If you dont know how to insert a tampon and would feel better if mom was there, that's OK. If you can do it yourself, that's OK too. Whatever feels best for you is OK!

It's fine.
You could go on some websites and see what they say.
Make sure there reliable mind you, can't be too carefull.
And don't be embarrased, every girl has to go through with it at some stage.

Nothing to worry about - just read the pack and make sure you understand what you are doing. I suggest a low absorbency and perhaps slim-fitting onesto start with.

Despite how close you and your mum are, I wouldn't suggest her actually being present when your inserting the tampon... Any time that you're exposed, in any way, should be personal. Whether or not your ok with your mum being there... It's an invasion of privacy! [Sorry if ya didn't wanna read that, but I think it needed to be posted]

You could get her advice on various factors... Like, positioning (lying down infront of a mirror or having one leg resting on the toilet sometimes make it easier) and maybe brands to use etc...

What's the issue if she's comfortable with her mom being there? If she is then by all means she should be because it would be much easier to learn.

Am I the only one who thinks it's a lil'... I'd say perveted but that's quite a harsh word, but in that sense?

Maybe it is just me, but when I first read it I automatically felt that it was wrong.
[Some / most won't agree with this but...]
Like, it's wrong in the way that asking your mum to be present/to show you how to masturbate is just not right. If ya get what I mean?

How about an opinion from a fellow girl?
