Why are straight people disgusted when gays/lesbians kiss and not the other way around? Is it just becuause it is something new. I was watching a movie and two guys kissed and all the people in the theatre were disgusted, but gay see straigh people kissing all the time without feeling bad.

I think it's because straight people don't want to accept that some people are gay. We accept them but they don't accept us, and that's what causes this paradox

Personally i find it kind of nasty when anyone kisses in public
And two gay or lesbian people kissing isn't any more or less disgusting

Privately its the same
Two straight people = Not disgusting
Two gay/lesbian people = Not disgusting

Others might think its disgusting because its not as accepted like Zach said
Less usual = Disgusting
I guess?

I don't think that all people are that ignorant. I would say that some people are more offended if its a Public display of affection.

Yeah, that's what I think, since they're not used to it. It's kind of like it suprises them, and because of their sexual orientation (being straight) they don't find appeal to it, so that may be why they find it disgusting.

All gays are used to straight people kissing, since everybody's seen a lot of movies with that in it.

OMG! I soooo know what you mean. I was on a school trip in Paris and we were in front of the Eiffel Tower and two guyswere making out. [I'm straight] my reaction was "Awwwww, how romantic and sweet!" but all the other kids were like "Eww!!!! That's gross and disgusting." I just couldn't understand why they needed to say it. One of the kids made a point of saying it really loud in front of them - but they didn't care, which I thought was great :D

Personally I think that whenever someone makes a comment or action towards homosexuality that sort of belittles it, I assume that they either doubt their own sexuality or may even be a little homophobic.

they think that they are the only people that exist in the world, and when they see someone who is different, they point it out, because they are bored with themselves.

It's because we have been brought up learning that homosexuality is wrong and when ever we see a same sex couple showing any type of affection we immediately get disgusted because in our minds it's wrong. Also it isn't really seen a lot so whenever we do see something new that we don't accept then it is disgusting to us. I think if the media would portray more same sex couples then eventually it will be accepted more.

That's your lifestyle. To me, people just haven't accepted the community that well enough.

Telling people that just annoys them and turns their opinions against you, and the gay lovers more. I just think its gross. I wasn't raised in a home were gays were portrayed as evil. Its hard to explain, i just think that its gross. I DO NOT hate them or anything like that.

i know what you mean. the same thing happened when i was at the eiffel tower. but the kids that outwardly said "eeww thats gross!!" werent with me. they were from california. personally, i think any PDA is cute whether youre gay, lesbian or straight.
i do have this one friend that is a lesbian and she absolutely dislikes seeing straight people kiss. in her mind, its just wrong. but she wont say to them "oh you need to stop because thats wrong."
everybody has their own opinions on what is and isnt "wrong." i honestly dont see anything wrong or bad about it.

Not every one is disgusted when seeing homosexuals displaying public affection. Like said before, most dont want to accept or even acknowledge that their are people that have feelings for the same sex. Many feel that its just wrong out right. It all depends on the person and their opinion and their views.
