for gay/lesbian/bi people

Did you choose to be gay/lesbian/bi? Or do you think you've always been that way?

Keep in mind that there's a difference between choosing to be gay/bi, and accepting it.
I remind everybody in this thread because it's more confusing than being straight, since being gay is considered taboo

I don't think I was always bisexual. I am definately bisexual at least. But I only decided it recently. As in I said "Right, that's it. I'm bisexual. I can't deny it anymore."

lol I think it was the day of Pride 2008 in Dublin, I was coming home from work, and I saw everyone, and I was compelled to be a part o f the celebrations. I didn't and I regret it.

decided? That isn't deciding. That's realising and accepting.

I personally think I've always been gay. Ever since I can remember, I was interested in boys a lottt more than girls. Girls just seemed like friends.

I remember even in 1st grade, I was more 'interested' in guys

Yeah there really isn't a choice really. You are born who you are. Like how you are born your skin color and your born your gender type.

I denied my sexuality of being bisexual. But seeing/hearing of other people are accepting of this. I decided to accept it myself. But now... I'm slightly reverting back to being heterosexual. I'm not sure why, but in my mind I get occasional weird thoughts of how odd it is for me being with the same sex.

because when i was a kid i didnt like boys only girls ALOT
I got made fun of alot because of my skin color so i decided then i was never going to be as closed minded as all these other ppl and so i decided i wanted to be with men and women... Cause everyone thought being gay was gross.. i was like no its just what they want u cant diss something till u try it...i know i wasnt born to like both genders so i must of chose ....
Idk i personally think that no one is born gay
i think something influences u to be gay as ur growing up

exactly right. i think that if you're brought up knowing only to like women, then you'll probably be heterosexual. if you're brought up without being influenced particularly, you'll probably be bi. and if you spend a lot of time around gay people (for e.g. gay parents) as you're growing up, then you'll not see anything wrong with it, and you'll probably be gay.

I don't believe I chose to be Bi, however It was my choice to no longer deny it.

I don't believe it's possible to choose who you're attracted to (be mindful that love, and attracting are different). If you were to ask a completely heterosexual person if they could cease to be attracted to the opposite sex chances are they would say no. So what makes someone think a homosexual/bi person could stop being attracted to the same sex?

im pretty sure im bi. ive been with a guy and girl and tbh i enjoyed both, alot. but yet i cant believe somehow that im bi. i do get tracted to girls though so i should be pretty certain. hmm. never mind
