Hey guys I'm working on a movie for my youth group and i'm using windows movie maker. Whenever I select a clip to play, it gives me "an unknown error has occured" so the clip doesn't play. Can anyone help me with this? Please? Thanks!

Oh and if anyone has any idea of where i can download a free video editing system that works better than windows movie maker let me know. I've already tried AVS, and i didn't like it. Otherwise, other reccomendations would be nice! Thanks!

take a look on sourceforge.net (http://www.sourceforge.net) Theres a load of open source software on there, and odds on, theres some video editing stuff on there too.

Regarding your "unknown error" , it could be the fact that there isn't a codec installed for the video format you're trying to play. Try converting it to another format (again, there should be a decent converter on sourceforge) and importing it again.

Hope I helped

At the top bar of the program, click the button that says "Publish movie" Publish it to your computer, and then try.

I think he means it won't play within Windows Movie Maker itself.
