Your body needs to get use to it. Start of with some light jogging. Then progress and you should be able to run in no time.

Well how long were you told to recover after your surgery..
Knee surgery is a serious thing and if you went under your recovery period you shouldn't run and see your doctor just in case.
I can't even describe all teh things that can go wrong with your knees...

I really feel sorry for you, i've just had knee surgery a few weeks ago and i'm still in pain.
I won't be running for awhile so i dont know what's going to be like for me.

Thats why I would suggest biking to EVERYONE :D And then running/jogging on concrete is really bad for your knees. With biking, you remove that upper body weight being pushed down onto your knees.
But if you did have the surgery 9 months ago, shouldn't it be ok for you to start jogging again? But like Zanora said, you should start out with light jogging first.

I would call the doctor and describe this to him. Let's hope you didn't tear whatever he repaired there. If you have some OTC anti inflammatory, like Aleve, Tylenol, or Advil, ask your folks if you can take them according to the directions.
Knees are very delicate, and if you had surgery, (even 9 mos ago) you have to treat them with respect. You might want to follow a more conservative approach to rehab, maybe by walking or swimming regularly and consistently, and then slowly adding time and activity tot hat routine, to build strength and endurance for those knees. Running on concrete/asphalt is the most stressful to the knees, you might want to lay off that for a while.

I had the same problem, and I went to see a doctor that specailizes in sports medicine, and they said that if it continues to do that, they might have to go in and do surgery again, im not sure if he havethe same problem, but I have different types of braces for each sport I play. Seriously, you should go to an orthipedic and talk to someone in the sports medicine feild, trust me. Ittl help (:

Agreed. As for rehab, Sam's also got it dead on with interval recovery.
