okay
latley i have been wearing an ealstic band around my wrist,
and when ever i think about food or i get hungryy, i just pull the elastic band and snap it back onto my wrist,
it DOESNT cut or anything, it just leaves red lines and goes red, it takes my mind off food.

my question is ..
is this a bad thing to do???
is it considered self harm, because i never want to harm myself.
shiould i stop??
what do i do??

It is technically not self harm. It is simply a way to distract yourself off what I am assuming some kind of craving or addiction to food. Not self harm.

No it isn't. I still do it. But I only use it when I'm upset or agitated.

It may not be self-harm, but one thing leads to another and all of a sudden you have a knife sliding on your arm. Pot ssmokers eventually move on to harder drugs... same concept. I suggest finding a better outlet, it may not be doing harm now, but eventually it'll catch up to you.

Well even though it is not classified as SI I would not recommend it as a healthy habit to get into.
People who SI usually use this method because it is almost like a half way point between SI and no SI, kind of like smokers who get on nicorette or something.
It is suppose to be more of a temporary solution until you can find a better way to distract yourself.
My point is don't rely on it as a distraction for the real problem.

That hurts more than cutting with a razor lol.
I tried it one time and was like I can't take this!
